We Remember

STEWART, Kathleen Pearl

March 3, 1938 — December 9, 2023

Kathleen Pearl Stewart (née Findlay) left peacefully and unexpectedly on December 9, 2023, after a brief illness. Kathleen also came into this world unexpectedly as the second of a set of twin girls born on March 3, 1938, in New Westminster, BC to Allan and Jessie Findlay. Kathleen was a very practical woman who had the gifts of a quick wit, a keen mind and quiet diligence. Kathleen was a private woman who enjoyed her own company while working on jigsaw puzzles, word puzzles, watching game shows, holiday movies and keeping an eye on the weather. If she were reading this, she would remark, “You don’t need to be telling them all that!”. Kathleen’s steady and caring presence, weather reports, and eye-rolling will be so missed by her loving children, Jes Findlay (Glen Maddin), Gene Schnurr (Marcella), Mark Schnurr and Bob Schnurr (Zenta Epp). Kathleen will be profoundly missed by her beloved twin sister, Eileen Buckland. Kathleen also leaves numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob Stewart, her parents, four older siblings and a granddaughter. At Kathleen’s behest, there will be “no service and no fuss.”
