We Remember

STOCKMANN, Marina

July 10, 1967 — August 13, 2024

On August 13, 2024, Marina Stockmann peacefully went to be with the Lord, leaving behind a lifetime of love, devotion, and faith.

Born on July 10, 1967, in Kazakhstan, Soviet Union, Marina spent her early years surrounded by family and tradition. After completing her studies in business, she embarked on a new chapter, moving to Germany in 1993. It was there, while attending German language classes, that she met the love of her life, Alexander Stockmann. They married in 1994, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that spanned 30 years.

Together, Marina and Alexander built a life filled with family and work. In 2002, they immigrated to Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada, where they continued to nurture their growing family. The arrival of their son, Joshua Sean, on December 28, 2006, was a moment of pure happiness. In 2009, the family relocated to Lake Country, BC, and later to Kelowna, BC in 2021. Marina was a woman whose heart was full of God’s love, a light that she shared generously with her family and friends. Her smile could light up any room, and her gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her. She was known for her kindness, helpfulness, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Marina’s hands were always busy, whether tending to her family and friends, cooking delicious meals, gardening, or creating beautiful knitted pieces. She and Alexander shared a passion for designing and building homes, proof of their shared vision and teamwork.

Marina is survived by her devoted husband, Alexander Stockmann; her beloved son, Joshua Stockmann; stepson Eric (Ina) of Germany; and her granddaughter Emma; as well as her mother, Irma; her four brothers: Viktor (Kati), Juri (Olga), Valeri (Larisa), and Eduard (Diana); as well as many extended family members and friends in Germany. She joins her father, Alexander, and her in-laws, Ignat and Olga, who have gone before her.

Marina’s life embodied love, faith, and family. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her, and her memory will be treasured by everyone fortunate enough to have shared in her journey.

Your presence we miss,
Your memory we treasure,
Loving you always,
Forgetting you never,
Until we meet again.

Alex, we were very sorry to learn of Marina’s passing. She was such a kind soul, and carried herself with quiet strength and true grace. I’m very glad to have gotten to know her, even if it was far too brief. You and the rest of Marina’s family are in our thoughts.
