We Remember
STRATTON, Bill Wyatt
—
Bill Stratton, a man of deep Christian faith, passed away at the age of 94, longing to reunite in Heaven with his beautiful wife Joy of 68 years who predeceased him in 2018. He was a devoted father who cherished his three children, Dean Stratton (Corinne), Shaunie Brown (Terry), and Lynda-Mae Young (Dave). Bill’s legacy lives on through his six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Known to many as a familiar face from his 40-year career at the original Safeway store on Bernard Avenue, Bill made a lasting impact on his community. He was admired for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering work ethic.
A lifelong Kelowna resident, beyond his work life, once he retired, Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for fishing and woodwork, and he made it a daily ritual to take long walks. In his later years, he could often be seen walking the city on the Mission Creek Parkway or anywhere around the downtown core. These were moments of solitude and reflection that he cherished.
Bill Stratton’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His unwavering faith, love for his family, and contributions to his community will be remembered with fondness and gratitude.
A private memorial service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
Bill is now with his Heavenly Father, reunited with his beloved wife. May his legacy continue to shine bright in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
