We Remember

SURINE, Addison Lorraine

Passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in Vancouver, BC. Predeceased by her twin sister Emma Victoria on December 25, 2015.  Addison is survived by her parents Dan and Melissa; paternal grandfather Kevin Surine; paternal grandmother Cheryl Black; maternal grandparents Allan and Brenda Romanowski; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Addison was born on Monday, February 2, 2015. Addison was the first born of the twins and she came out with a bang- so much personality in such a tiny body. She loved to go for walks, watch hockey, and play. Addison and her twin sister Emma were diagnosed with a terminal neuromuscular condition called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type 1) at 3.5 months of age. The life expectancy for this condition is 1-2 years. Her far-too-short life was filled with nothing but love, happiness, and joy. She passed away the same way she entered the world- surrounded by the love of her parents and close family. She will forever be missed, along with her sister Emma.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 2:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home Family Centre, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, 1690 Matthews Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V6J 2T2.
