Mary Swityk 86, passed away October 21st in Salmon Arm, BC.  Visitation will be held at Springfield Funeral Home 2020 Springfield Road Kelowna BC. Between the hours of 3 – 4pm October 25th.   Funeral services will be held at Peter & Paul Ukrainian Church 1935 Barlee Road Kelowna, BC on October 26th.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.  Mary was born October 26, 1929 in Vegerville, Alberta to Michael and Annie Dutchak.  She married her love Jack Swityk, in May 1948.  He preceded her in death 1989.  Mary and Jack raised their five children in Hinton, Alberta.  Mary owned and managed a clothing store in Hinton, they took early retirement and moved to Kelowna, BC.  Mary loved her Ukrainian culture.  She pursued many activities revolving around the church.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and picture taking.  She also loved being outdoors.  She leaves behind her loving companion of 19 years Martin Dubyk.  She is survived by her children and grandchildren:  Donald (children Monica and Mikhael), Zonia (husband Charley, children Jason, Liv and Annika), Darlene (husband John, children Nathan and Meagan), Connie (children Sarah and Ryland), Terry (wife Ellen, children Shaun and Gerrit), also 10 great grandchildren.  Mary is survived by her sisters Natalka and Olga, in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family to many to list but not forgotten.  A special thanks to Mary’s caregivers of Mount Ida Mews in Salmon Arm.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 26th at 1:00 pm at St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1935 Barlee Road, Kelowna, BC.
