TAYLOR, Patricia Joan

Patricia Joan Taylor passed away on May 30, 2018 at the age of 87.  Survived by her daughters: Wendy Aaron, Elaine Taylor, son Owen, his wife Shelley, grandchildren: Nikki Aaron, Jordan and Samantha Taylor, and sister Marg Robb.  Predeceased by her husband Larry Taylor.

Pat passed away peacefully on May 30th in Hospice House.  She was born in Toronto in 1930 and moved to Vancouver in the early 1950’s. She had a passion for early childhood education and worked with children all over the world.

Pat and Larry moved to the Okanagan in 1968 and found their forever home in Kelowna.  Together they travelled the world from 1979 until 2010.  Pat embraced each new adventure with equal parts of fear and excitement.  Overseas work took her from her comfort zone in the Okanagan to Central Africa for two years, then to Egypt, and back to West Africa.  She always embraced the local culture and loved the people.  Pat had a keen interest in the symphony and represented the board for a number of years.  In later life she took up weaving and spent many happy hours with the local weaver’s guild.

Pat was a kind, caring, honest soul that will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Village at Mill Creek for their care of Pat and the amazing people at Hospice House who all made a difficult time just a little bit easier.

 A Celebration of Pat’s Life was fulfilled as to her wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laurence and Patricia Taylor Engineering Scholarship Fund UBC Okanagan, 1138 Alumni Ave, Kelowna, BC V1V 2X7.

    Dear Wendy, Owen and Elaine and families, .
    We were so sorry to hear of your mom`s passing. We have very fond memories of our early years
    being neighbours on Richmond Street. We are so happy my mom and dad were able to reconnect with your mom in the last few years. We are sorry we never got a chance to share that my dad (Art Reichert) just passed away on May 11, 2018. Our thought and Prayers are with you during this difficult time.
