TINTO, Camillo

At the age of 88, on December 17, 2023, Camillo Tinto peacefully passed away.

Camillo will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Bambina Adriana. Camillo’s spirit is carried on through his four children: Joan (James) Sanders, Diana (Wade) Markewich, Claudia (Corry) Moes, and Tony (Karen) Tinto; as well as by his seven grandchildren: Jordan and Jessica, Kenn and Keith, Johanna, Ella, and Lucy. He will also be missed by his brother, Joe, and sister-in-law, Maria. Camillo was predeceased by his parents Antonio Tinto and Giovanna Lucci, and by his brother Alfredo Tinto. Camillo will be remembered by many for his kindness, gentleness, and his thoughtful and loving ways that gave him a strong will to look after others. His love of carpentry, his unconditional love for his family, and his patience made his awesome smile glow with brightness. Our family thanks go to his special family members Guido and Suzanne DiFabrizio; Dr. Whiting; Jessica Roberts; Gina Polley; Dr. Baxter; the palliative care team in the community and the palliative care team at Hospice; and all special friends of Camillo’s who were able to give him and his wife support in a time of his illness and our time of sorrow.

In lieu of flowers, Camillo had asked that donations be made to BC Cancer Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior or to BC Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM (PST), at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 839 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC, followed by a Catholic burial service at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.

    I have the fondest memories of Camillo over the past 35 years. He was always a gentle and caring man to his family and friends. Always very patient and understanding. A meticulous carpenter, he was always available to lend help where needed. I know his passing will leave a giant hole in the hearts of his loved ones, but his spirit and loving memories will last in them forever❣️ Rest peacefully Camillo, till we meet again…

    Our heartfelt condolences to you and your families. Zio was a wonderful person and a great dad. He was so very loving, caring, patient and generous to everyone he knew. I was honoured to be part of his life and we will miss him very much. Being so far away, I was so happy we were recently able to see him and he was able to meet my whole family. Heaven received another Angel today, ❤️🙏
