Faye passed away surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness on June 9, 2023. Faye had an illustrious career, spending 34 years with Jazz Aviation as Customer Service Agent, Station Trainer, and Charter Lead, making friends everywhere she went. She spent 33 years with the Canadian Armed Forces, working with the Cadet Program in Kelowna, BC since 1997 and at various summer training locations in British Columbia. Faye touched many lives across Canada, inspiring youth with her passion for aviation and the Cadet Program. When not working, Faye liked to travel and spend time with family and friends. She most recently spent a week on a Caribbean cruise in February and did a road trip to the United States in May.

Faye will be missed dearly by her husband of 7 years, Thor; her son Christopher Shore of Calgary, AB; father Henri Rozen; her sisters-in-law Cindy (Hugh) Groner and Heather Toms (Les Hynes); brother-in-law Ron (Joy) Toms; her niece Taya Hynes; as well as her fur baby Kirby the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel; and numerous friends across Canada and abroad.

Faye will be remembered for being fun to spend time with her larger-than-life personality, her welcoming smile that was a beacon to others, her loyalty to her family and friends, and the compassion she brought to everything she did.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the BC SPCA.

  • Penny Hendricks says:

I am so sad and still in disbelief that Faye has passed on. Whoever wrote her eulogy did it well as it reflected the beautiful soul that I knew long ago in the 90’s on Healy Street when the kids were young as were we. Recently Faye helped me out in Kelowna by picking up a really important Ukrainian artifact that was gifted to me by an old Ukrainian lady after her husband passed and she had to move to a much smaller place. Of COURSE it was Faye who rescued my items last minute as the pick up was time sensitive. True to her spirit with a cheery voice she said ‘OF COURSE I will pick these up and hold them for you until we figure out how to get them to you in Quesnel!’. Faye was always a happy soul whose mood never changed and was always friendly and beyond kind and helpful. I am sad that her illness took her away from her son Chris way too soon and well before old age. I am sad for Henri as I cannot image my child pre-deceasing me. Not enough years with her husband Thor. May your spirit shine in Heaven Faye like it always did here on Earth with us mortal souls. Rest now in peace Beautiful Lady ❤️

  • Pamela Audley says:

A beautiful soul who will be dearly missed. Her smile would light up a room.

  • René says:

Faye always greeted me with a huge smile and a big hug! She was one of a kind!! Gone way too soon. Fly high lovely! Say hi to my Clarence! 😘🦋

  • Justin Whitson says:

I am so sorry to hear! So many memories with her during my times in Vernon(2005-2008). She was so sweet, dedicated and cheery. My condolences to her family.

  • Donalee & Henry Roelofs says:

It is still so hard to believe that Faye has passed on. What a beautiful woman she was. Our family got to know Faye through her many years of work with the Air Cadet Program. She was always so positive and such a great influence on not only our children, but so many others. She really was “one of a kind”! To Henri, Chris, Thor and the rest of her family, our heartfelt condolences to you all for this devastating loss. She will be missed.

  • Lisa Spencer says:

Faye was an amazing friend and colleague. She was always happy to give you a smile and a hug any time you needed. YLW will never be the same without her. RIP my friend.

  • Ken Dewerson says:

Faye was an inspiration to us all at YLW, hjer smile will be missed by all the Ambassadors.

  • Garth Caron says:

I live in Lake Country, BC. On the flight path into YLW. I remember Faye from my AirBC days at the Training Centre, and Faye was always a pleasure to have in a class. Many times trained for Security Training at the bases as well. Years later I ran into Faye at the YLW Counter, she hadn’t changed much. The Smile, and the excellence in Customer Service was always evident. I shall miss her. She was an excellent employee and always had time for Air Cadets, in Vernon and other places. Everyday since she has passed away there isn’t a day I don’t think about her when a Rouge, A320 Air Canada Express DH-8-400 or CRJ passes by. I doubt if that feeling will every leave me. A Job well done Faye!

  • Beardsley Joy says:

Dearest Faye, how I loved to see you come up to my plane with that infectious smile. I loved chatting with you and was so happy when you got to Kelowna base. You are part of our Jazz Aviation family and you will be so missed by all your flight crews. Your family and Kirby must miss your love and just being there with them. Fly high Faye and watch over us all from Heaven and someday when we meet again and I see your smile what a glorious day that will be!

  • Jana Mollica says:

Faye was a face you always wanted to see when that airplane door swung open. She ALWAYS had a smile and a warm welcome for you. She was such a happy, friendly person. Everyone at Jazz will miss her so much. Much love to her friends and family. Take comfort in knowing how loved she was & the memory she left in our hearts.

  • Jenna edwards says:

This is such shocking sad news. I had the honour and pleasure of working as a CSA @ Air BC Kelowna with Faye and continued to be greeted by her infectious smile and contagious friendly personality throughout my time as a flight attendant. What a truly beautiful soul. My deepest condolences to Faye’s Son who she was so proud of and to her Husband and family. Faye will truly live on in the others who’s lives she touched.

I came to know her as a friendly person who could be relied on to get you out of a jam. Anytime I needed help, she would reach out and offer her hand. I was grateful to her for leading me to Kelowna (YLW) when I decided to move back to BC. Her unquenchable thirst for knowledge and her ability to problem solve made her an excellent trainer and coworker. Our shared history will always be a treasure for me. Farewell to a beautiful soul, inside and out. I had no idea in grade 7, we would be lifelong friendsFaye! There are no words to describe this feeling. When you’re young you think you’ll live forever. I’m so sorry I can’t be at your service, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Faye, and rise in glory. Sleep well my dear friend, until we meet again. God bless you.❤️

  • Dean Mullin says:

My deepest condolences to the family. Working along side of Faye when she started in Cranbrook, she always brought a positive and carefree attitude to work which made it so much fun and enjoyable to work with her. Faye was part of a group of us that went to Barbados and too funny we started day drinking and by the time we all were ready to go out she was too drunk and went to bed. She didn’t do that again lol. She touched many as I can see on here and still it’s hard to accept that she is gone. Thank you for being a friend.

  • Teressa low (hacking) says:

Faye you are missed everyday. My deepest condolences to your family. Thinking of all of you.

Dear Chris, Henri, Thor: I hope you gain comfort today from the gathering to honour Faye. She was such a bright light and I feel privileged to have known her. What a spirit! • Cheryl Kruger says:

Signed in to take part in saying farewell to Faye Toms.
Beautiful sharing & caring of a genuine caring lady.
Seldom do we meet someone who is truly open to new friendships without reservations or discrimination. Faye was an example of living with an open heart. Thank you Faye for touching so many.
When I read of your engagement Thor, I was happy for both of you. I remember seeing Thor walking home from school and knew he would be in the military in some area.. Seeing Thor with Faye I thought it was a great partnership. May Thor, Henri and Chris cherish their memories and share them often.
RIP Faye knowing you touched all who met you.
    Cheryl KRUGER (AC Jazz)

  • Karen Wiwchar says:

I got to know Faye from train the trainer conferences from both Sunwing and Air Transat. She made you feel more then a friend when we met up.
We both fell sick with the autoimmune disorders around the same time and her determination was a true source of strength for me. I will always remeber the pride and joy she took from Christopher surprising her with a visit in Toronto during one of the conferences.
Condolences to the entire family and I know, she knows, she is missed.
