We Remember
TORGERSON, Garry Theodore
—
Passed away on December 7, 2012 at the age of 57. Survived by his mother Roberta Torgerson, nieces Christy Myndzak and Fawn Williams and nephew Richard Allan Torgerson. Sadly predeceased by his father Theodore Osmand Torgerson, brother Bryon Torgerson and sister Sharon Myndzak. Garry or “Torgy” as he was affectionately known by all, leaves behind a wide circle of friends, some of which had the honour of calling him family. Whether it be on the slo-pitch field, the golf course, the pool hall, the race track, or in years past, the glass plant, Torgy was a warrior, a Latvian wardog. His work ethic and his willingness to help when needed was second to none. He loved his sports and anything that he could wager on! He has touched many in this community and will be sadly and deeply missed. We love you Torgy and know that you will be shining down on us and keeping us all in line! A Celebration of Life will take place for Torgy early in the new year, a further announcement will provide details. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.
Garry was one of a kind, for sure, and will be missed by all. I was a colleague from the glass factory.
My heart goes out to all of his family at this very sad time. I had the pleasure of knowing Garry through work and the ball field. You could always see his 1000 watt smile whenever he was near you and he brought many smiles to others. He will be missed by many. My Deepest Sympathy, Fran
any pictures of my uncle??
I worked with Torgy at the glass plant for many years and got to know him as a good friend. I was shocked to hear what happened. I will miss him and I know he will be greatly missed. As Gary would say ” You know what I am saying”
Sorry to hear that we have lost ‘Torg’. He was a good man and a big asset to all who depended on him at the Rise golf course. It’s sad as he was much too young!
I always seen Garry at the soccer pitch, coming down to watch his buddies out on the field. He was always smiling and trying to find someone to place a wager on the game! I’ll miss seeing you down there Torgy. Condolences to your family. Take care. David
If any of my uncles friends have any photos id love to see them and have copies? as his adoptive family and lawyer got rid of all his things without letting any family in his life take anything of his with no comminication! ANY photos would be amazing. Thank you
Tho I’m probably not related to this clan of Torgersons my condolences go out to your family.
