We Remember
UEDA Jack Katsumi
June 28, 1947 — February 15, 2022
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jack Katsumi Ueda on February 15, 2022.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sheila; two children Todd Ueda and Kristy Mansley (Ryan): four grandchildren Aiden Ueda, Kaiya Ueda, Hana Mansley, and Keaton Mansley; and 4 siblings Linda Crosbie, Doug Ueda, Ken Ueda (Arlene) and Irene Ueda. Jack was predeceased by parents George and Fujie Ueda.
Born and raised in Kelowna, Jack enjoyed everything the Okanagan had to offer. He was an avid golfer and would get out any chance he could for a round! Jack and Sheila also spent each summer, with their trailer hooked up exploring everywhere from way up north, down to the Oregon Coast and everything in between! In the winter Jack could be found cheering on the Kelowna Rockets.
Jack was the strong, quiet, caring type. Always the one to sit back and listen but the first to offer a helping hand. Although quiet in a crowd, if you got Jack alone, he’d chat your ear off! Jack loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed.
A private, invitation-only, family gathering is being held in his honor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the South Interior Cancer Clinic.

Dear Sheila and Family,
Ruth, Gary and I are truly sorry to hear about Jack’s passing.
Gary and I fondly remember our childhood summers with Jackie in Kelowna. There were the trips to the five and ten to buy caps for our capguns, playing in Uncle George’s orchard eating the pears and jumping over the irrigation ditches, fishing and swimming in the mountain creeks, bicycling along Guisachan Rd to visit our other relatives and especially eating baloney and onion sandwiches at the round table in the old house that Uncle George built.
Please accept our deepest sympathy.
Gary, Ken, Ruth

I am saddened to hear of Jack’s passing. His smile will always be missed at the clinic
& at the Rockets games. Sending my condolences to the Ueda family
I met Jack when we were 12. Every day we walked to Doug Pearson’s where he gave us a ride to Dr. Knox in his 51 Ford rag, We would get to school early to play basketball until the bell rang. Summers we swam at the Aquatic and hunted Starlings in the orchard. Winters we played minor hockey and pond hockey at every chance.
Life was good with a great friend.
Condolences to his wife and family.
