We are so sorry and saddened to hear about the sudden passing of David. We live in Calgary – My parents live in Winfield – and our visits there were never complete without a long shop or two at David’s shop. His patience answering all of my kids questions about fossils and rocks and his evident enthusiasm for his craft were always appreciated by all of us. He will be very missed by our family.

Dear Diane,
I am still staggered at this loss. I think of you everyday knowing that David was such a big part of your life. You have much to be proud of; he was a very gentle, kind, and generous man. My Art Jewelry students at GESS will miss running across the street to find stones… David was always so welcoming to them, and they always came back happy with something special to work with. He was my first silversmithing teacher, and he provided me with a solid foundation to build my skills upon. I will miss him dearly… Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you or Tikki.
Thinking of Jaden, my heart bleeds for him.
Take care of yourself, Linda Meraw

Cousin Diane, Kim, and family. We are so sorry for your loss and saddened to hear about the sudden passing of David. We all remember him fondly as a cute little blonde boy of the ’70’s.
I would like to share with you the following poem that I keep in my purse and hope that it provides some comfort to you.
If Tears Could Build a Stairway
Author: Unknown
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane
I would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say “goodbye”
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you –
no one can ever know.
But now I know you want me
to mourn for you no more;
To remember all the happy times
life still has much in store.
Since you’ll never be forgotten,
I pledge to you today-
A hollowed place within my heart
is where you’ll always stay.
Please let any one of us know if there is anything we can do for you.
Love Aunt Geraldine, your cousins, Kyna, Linda, Carol, Patricia, and families.
Dear Diane and Tikki,
Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with you, both.
We are so stunned and saddened by David’s sudden passing. We will always remember his kindness, warmth, encouragement, generosity and humor. It is hard to express what the heart feels, but, he will truly be missed.
I am feeling shocked…I just stopped by the shop today to say Hi to David and saw the note, I didn’t know and have not stopped on my trips to Kelowna because I was “busy”. I express my most heartfelt condolences to all the family. I cherish the conversations I had with David and the lessons he taught me. I will always remember his light and his smile, and the beautiful pendant I have that he made has new meaning, as I think about how precious a moment with each person can be.
Thank you David, for knowing in your heart what was right for each of us.
