We Remember
VAN DEN EERENBEEMT, Jaden Wim
August 15, 1996 — December 29, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jaden Wim van den Eerenbeemt on December 29, 2023, at Kelowna General Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
Jaden was born on August 15, 1996, and spent the majority of his life in Kelowna, BC. Jaden had a great sense of humour and was a loyal and compassionate friend. He loved music, healthy meals, and animals – especially cats. Jaden had a passion for Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA, which he pursued with fierce determination. He was a driven individual who fought until the end.
Jaden was predeceased by his father, David; mother, Candice; grandfather, Wim; and great-grandparents, Doug and Norah. Jaden’s family was extended, and he was cherished by many. He is survived by his beloved grandmother, Diane; Auntie Kim (Mike), and Kim’s boys, Shea, Cole, and Owen; and his sister, Kassia, and brother, Kylan. He is also survived by his stepmother, Kim, and stepsister, Addisyn; as well as by his grandparents, Tim & Teri Messenger; and grandparents, Brad & Sheila Carson; his aunts, Kim and Carrie Carson; his uncle, Darren Carson; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins of the van den Eerenbeemt, Messenger, Carson and Herbert families.
We are forever grateful to the Kelowna community members and ACT Team employees who crossed Jaden’s path and provided support, compassion, and kindness.
“Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.”
We love you eternally, Jaden. Until we meet again.

Diane, I am heartbroken to hear about Jaden. I remember the hours spent with him at Wanda’s home and in the community. You were a tireless advocate for Jaden and you were always there to help us when needed. My daughter, through her street work, also worked with Jaden as an adult and she is very saddened by this news. We would see Jaden downtown frequently and he continued to be very friendly and cordial. Jaden was fortunate to have such a wonderful grandmother. Dave Daley.
