We Remember
van SANTEN, Donald
October 23, 1962 — June 25, 2024
After a long battle dealing with a broken body and debilitating pain, brother Donald Clarence died peacefully at home in Kelowna last Tuesday, June 25, 2024, aged 61. We grieve at his leaving, but we are relieved that his suffering is over.
Life was never the same for Don after a pickup truck took him out on his Harley, back in the mid-90s. He spent years convalescing under the nurturing care of mama Ria until her death in 2014, then supported by remaining family to the end. In accordance with his wishes, Don will be cremated at the Springfield Funeral Home without ceremony.
Rest in peace Don.
Don’s spirit joins those of his father, Cornelis, and his mother, Maria. He leaves behind his brother, Robert, and sister-in-law, Leslie.

Donnie might no longer be here, but he will always remain a part of our memories. That he silently suffered for the better part of three decades, the kind and gentle soul that he was is finally free from the earthly limitations fate dealt to him. Lovingly remembered by brother Rob, sister-in-law Leslie, nieces Gillian and Jadyn, and nephew Jacob.
My deepest heartfelt condolences! Donny was one of the good ones I knew him well from singing at the packing house pub for 12 years and even went on many rides which him seems like forever ago but he was always so kind to me and looked out for me at large functions I knew him before his accident and I know how much he suffered after he will forever be in my heart ❤️
