July 6, 1937 — May 1, 2014
VOLK, Don passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the age of 76. Survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 55 years, daughter Sharon (Glenn) Siverns of Coquitlam, grandson Ryan, two brothers Ray Volk, Bob (Gwen) Volk both of Kelowna, two sisters Doreen (Joe) Boser of Kelowna, Mary Ann (Don) Ross of Surrey and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by a brother, Al, and a sister in law, Thelma. Don worked at OK Builders here in Kelowna. He also played for and coached the Rutland Rovers for many years. Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road. Interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 307 – 1664 Richter St., Kelowna, BC, V1Y 8N3, Canadian Diabetes Assoc. 1589 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5Y7, or the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9. I am stunned ‘n saddened with the news of Don’s passing….from the earliest of my memories as a child.. it was the Volk’s.. Finn’s Meat Market.. The Rutland Rovers.. So many wonderful memories of us all being together… I shall always cherish them.

Dot and family. We are so sorry to hear about Don. We first knew Don at Tuesday bowling at Valley Lanes and were there when he bowled his perfect game. He was a great guy. Dennis also had contact with him in the construction business. He was a great guy.
