We Remember
WALKER, Patricia Ann
August 26, 1933 — December 29, 2025
We all are saddened and yet, at the same time – blessed, having said farewell to our dear mom, Patricia Ann Walker. We say blessed as mom is now at peace, has joined our father and gone to her Lord Jesus Christ whom she had a very strong faith and belief in. We are also blessed to have had such a loving mother for 92 years.
Mom’s love of her family and children, including grand and great-grand, cannot be understated. All were loved deeply and unconditionally, even though some, actually probably only one, may have contributed to her grey hair so long ago. Our extended family and many of our friends will also attest to her open heart and kindness for all.
We moved to Kelowna, BC in 1971 from Tecumseh, Ontario (best move ever). While raising the four of us after arriving here, she tried skiing at “Last Mountain” curling with dad and participating with local square dancing, and even the odd competition. Mom was a talented artist in her own right, particularly with wildlife portraits. She was competitive and loved a good game of cards with Gin Rummy, Crib, Bridge or “Stack Attack”, Rummy was a particular favourite. There was always a running scoresheet on the dinning room table, keeping track of wins between her and dad. With family, she also enjoyed many board games, with Aggravation and Rummoli at the top of her lists. Rummoli was favoured over the years with 3 generations at the table when “Aunt Mina” (our great Aunt), lived with mom and dad.
She really enjoyed social and game times with family and friends and continued to do so right up until last year prior to her decline in health and mobility.
Mom had a love and talent for bookkeeping and took on many different positions over the years, however she seemingly was always there for us.
Over the years, her home was often open for those who needed a warm and loving home at some time during their youth. Starting in Ontario and continuing here after moving to Kelowna, her home was shared with nieces or nephews at various times and “Aunt Mina” for many years, all benefiting from moms love and care.
Mom was predeceased by her grandson Andrew Scott Walker (d. 2009) and her husband John Walker (d. 2023). She is survived by her four children Garth Walker (Brenda), Scott Walker (Cynthia), Leann Owenson (Chuck) and Kim Naka (Glen).
She is also survived by her 9 loving and well-loved grand children and 16 great-grandchildren. There are many nieces and nephews across the country who also will miss their “Aunt Pat” and her open love for each of them.
Our family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Village at Mill Creek for all of their time and care for our mother.
The family will have a private celebration at a later time.
