We Remember
WARNER, Sharon
—
March 10, 1949 – July 14, 2021
Warner (née Wirachowsky), Sharon: 72, mother, daughter, and dear friend to so many; died after a brief and consuming battle with cancer on July 14, 2021. She had been diagnosed with cancer just 6 weeks prior.
Sharon grew up in Kelowna, BC and raised her family in Lake Country, BC. She was a hairdresser for over 50 years, with clients traveling to her home salon from all over the valley. She worked so hard to keep us all looking beautiful.
She was incredible at sports. Although petite, her golf swing rivaled the best. She loved to golf, ski, swim and curl; when at home she loved to sew, knit, and crochet. We will cherish her creations even more now. She had a passion for music, dancing, and jokes. Just like her father, she always had a bawdy joke whether you were sipping a beer or in her hair chair. We all relied on her for her wisdom: you could always call her up for advice in the garden, the kitchen, or just in life. Sharon always told you the truth, even if it was tough to hear.
Sharon was predeceased by her son Greg, father Alex and husband Jim. She is survived by her two children, Jeff and Landis, their spouses, and her beloved grandsons, Beckett and Elliott; as well as her two brothers, Ralph and Francis, and their families. Her extended family is enormous, and she loved them all. Sadly, just days after Sharon’s passing, her mother Marge Wirachowsky also passed away. Sharon always said they were best friends.
In June 2015, Sharon lost her husband Jim in a similar battle with cancer. Learned too late and gone too soon. If you would like to honour them at this time, please donate “in memory” to the BC Cancer Foundation.
A Celebration of Life for Sharon and Marge will be held at Sharon’s home on Saturday, August 7, 2021, from 10am-1pm. Friends and family are all welcome.

I first met Sharon when I was a very little girl and she was working in the Town Centre Mall. She cut my hair throughout childhood, and kindly gifted me an “up-do” for my high school graduation. I will always think of her when I see those photos. I was saddened to learn of her cancer diagnosis from my mom, just a few short weeks ago. The loss of Sharon, and also of Marge so shortly after, is heartbreaking and I want to offer my sincerest condolences. My thoughts are with Jeff and Landis and your families, she spoke of you both so often over the years..
So sorry for your loss. It has been many years since I have seen Sharon. I remember her as such a bright presence and sweet lady. Condolences to the kids and their families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. 💜 Renee Garand & Don
I am so sorry for the family of Sharon. . She was one of the finest people I knew. Not just the best hairdresser but we would have so many laughs when we all went out dancing to the army and navy. She was the life of the party for sure. . Her wit and charm made her a joy to be around. She always had us in stitches when she told her jokes. She was such a great story teller. . She will be greatly missed 💕
Judy and I would like to send our condolences to all the family, sorry for your loss.
So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. We’ve known her for many years through extended family and she was our fantastic hairdresser for a long time. Our thoughts are with you all.

Sharon was a wonderful grandma to both Kaillie and Addison. I will miss our conversations. I’m so sorry to hear of your grandma passing soon after. Take care.

Sharon became my best friend from the day I met her as my Mom and her Mom knew each other from the Armynavy. We golfed with each other at Michaelbrook golf course for five years and I learned about some tragic things about her family., son and husband had passed away before I was there,
.I love you Sharon and I saw four spheres in the sky I hope that was all of you passing through the universe and someday I will meet you! Love you girl!! Wendy
