WEBB-THOMAS, Lynn

Lynn went into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on August 28, 2011 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Lynn was born in Trail BC in 1953 into the Yesdresyski family.  The family soon relocated to Kitimat, B.C., where Lynn grew up and received her formal education.  Lynn was pre-deceased by her father Len, mother Rose, brothers David and Gerald.  She is survived by her loving husband, Rick Thomas, daughter Ronee (Paul) Adams, of Baltimore, MD, son Jeff (Megan) Webb of Ft. St. John, B.C. and five beautiful grand children who were the light of her life: Katelynn, Liam, Jacob, Sawyer and Isla.  She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Joan (Dave) Richter of Kelowna, B.C., and Bonnie (Harvey) Penner of Yorkton, Sask.  Her mother-in-law, Susan (Cliff) Mathews of Pt. Coquitlam, her sisters-in-law, Theresa (Chris) Gilmore of North Vancouver, Sandra (Derrick) Whitfield of Coquitlam, Cheryl (Murray) Gordon of Squamish, B.C. and many nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.  Lynn had many special friends (you each know who you are) including her co-workers at BC HRMA, partners in the Vancouver business community, and childhood friend Jacques LeBlanc who helped with her care above and beyond the call of duty.  We would like to pay a special thanks to Dr. Denegri and all the doctors and nurses on Ward 15A at V.G.H. who cared for Lynn.  She called you her angels.

Throughout her long battle with cancer, Lynn’s fighting spirit, beauty and grace never wavered.  She was known for her compassion, infectious laugh and inspirational love of life.  No one could ever replace our wonderful wife, mother, Grandma, sister, aunt and friend – but Lynn will continue to watch over her loved ones as the most beautiful and best organized angel in Heaven.

A service for Lynn was held in Vancouver on Thursday.  For friends and family in the Okanagan, there will be an opportunity to pay last respects from 9:00 -10:00 am on Saturday, September 3rd at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.  Lynn will be laid to rest alongside her parents at the Lakeview Cemetery, Kelowna BC at 10:30 am, reception to follow at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “Light The Night Walk,” October 15, 2011 c/o The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.  Arrangements entrusted to Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, Vancouver, BC, 604-255-5444 and Springfield Funeral Home, Kelowna, BC, 250-860-7077  Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
