We Remember

WERSCHLER, Marilyn Suzanne
May 14, 1951 — July 16, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marilyn Werschler on July 16, 2024. Born on May 14, 1951, Marilyn lived a life full of love, resilience, and kindness.
Marilyn was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur Buckingham. She leaves behind her beloved mother, Marian Buckingham, who has now endured the heartbreaking loss of three daughters. Marilyn’s sisters, Shary and Leslie, who passed in 2004 and 2014, are remembered as her angel sisters, she now joins them watching over their family.
Marilyn’s legacy lives on through her three children: Gavin, Abby, and Katie, who were by her side during her final days. They will continue to honor her kind nature and strong spirit.
Throughout her career at Chapters and in her final residence at Hawthorn Park, Marilyn was loved by many friends and colleagues who will miss her dearly.
In Kelowna, Marilyn met her travel companion, dance partner, and best friend, George. She was warmly welcomed and cherished by his family, enriching her life with joy and companionship.
Despite bravely battling and surviving cancer and a heart condition, Marilyn’s strength was ultimately overcome by ALS. Her courage and resilience throughout her illnesses were a testament to her unwavering spirit.
Marilyn’s memory will forever be a source of inspiration and love for all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.
