We Remember

Wesley, Sylvia

May 30, 1923 — March 2, 2012

Went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, March 2, 2012 at the age of 88. Sylvia was born on May 30, 1923 in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Alvin and Maybelle Lawrence, a sister to 15 siblings. She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 69 years, William; daughters Mary Anne (Bevin) in Oshawa, ON, Betty (Henry) in Richmond Hill, ON, Carol in Lincoln, NB, Brenda-Lee (Ron) in Kelowna, BC and sons: William (Judy) in Minnedosa, MB, John (Rose) in Lake Country, BC, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was sadly predeceased by her parents, her son, Frederick and grandson David. With William being in the Armed Forces, Sylvia and children lived in many Canadian Forces Bases across Canada. She had a wonderfully infectious smile and loved to knit, sew, bake, listen and sing to music and care for her family. The family would like to thank Sylvia’s wonderful care aides in Reid’s Corner at Sun Pointe Village where she resided for the past 3 years. A Celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held on March 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at Sun Pointe Village – 700 Rutland Road N with David Van Essen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Alzheimer Society.
