We Remember
WESTMORLAND, Evan
August 31, 1979 — April 25, 2024
Evan William Westmorland August 31, 1979- April 25, 2024 Calgary, AB/Kelowna, BC It is with broken hearts that the family of Evan Westmorland announce his sudden passing on April 25, 2024 at the young age of 44.
Evan will be remembered as a loving father to his little daughter Veronika, a protective older brother to Faye Lewchak, a beloved son to Mike & Shelley Westmorland, and will be dearly missed by all his friends in Calgary and Kelowna.
Evan was born in Calgary on August 31, 1979. He always had a great love for the lake and going boating. He made his way to Kelowna where he spent the majority of his time over the years. Evan’s happy place was the lake. He loved being around his friends and family sharing stories, and catching up over a beer while watching hockey or football.
Evan quickly made friends wherever he went, he was charming and had a great sense of humour, there was never a dull moment and always a story to go home with.
Evan was a skilled tradesman who took pride in his work, specializing in tile and hardwood flooring. He loved spending time with his daughter Veronika and giving her the experiences he loved so much; whether it was being at the beach, on a boat, or skating together in the winter, she was his entire world, and he loved her with all his heart.
We will all miss Evan dearly as he was taken way too soon, we are devastated by his sudden passing. We hope he is resting easy and in peace.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Evan on SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 2024, starting at 3:00 pm (MDT), at THE CANADIAN BREWHOUSE in Harvest Hills: 9650 Harvest Hills Blvd N #1200, Calgary, AB. We have a private area reserved to celebrate Evan the way he would enjoy, as if he were still here with us. When I was a lost, troubled teen I met Evan at harveys in Brentwood. His infectious smile and eyes always make me feel welcome when I didn’t feel that way in most other places in my life. They took me in , took care of me and showed me acceptance and love. Through the years we would meet up occasionally, last time being in Kelowna. Plans were to meet up again around Christmas when he told me he was planing a trip to Calgary. I can’t imagine the pain felt by his family in this tragic time as a very special person was taken far too early from this earth, but while he was here he made it a better place. You will be dearly missed my friend. I’m sure your daughter will grow up to carry on your legacy. My condolences to his family and everyone that loved him .. fly high big guy… ♥️
My deepest condolences to Mike, Shelley, Faye and Nicholas and Veronika for your loss. May Evan rest in peace.
I am Jason’s mom, I am shocked and deeply saddened to learn about Evan’s passing. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to his family, his sister Faye, his parents and his daughter. So many things come to mind thinking about Evan, Jason and friends back in the days, it is hard to imagine he is gone. Rest in peace Evan and we will keep all the good memories alive.
My deepest condolences to my sister Shelley and all the family circle.
I never had the opportunity to meet Evan in person although we communicated on numerous occasions and he will be sadly missed.
