We Remember

WIEBE, Elizabeth Eudokia
May 14, 1940 — June 25, 2025
The ever vibrant and effervescent Elizabeth Wiebe went to be with the lord in heaven on June 25, 2025, at the age of 85.
Elizabeth is survived by children Noelle Wiebe (Ken), June (Dan) Hart, and Darren (Anita) Wiebe; grandchildren Tenille (Adam), Tyler (Charlotte), Jayden (Bell), Olivia, and Isaiah; and her great-grandchildren Benton, Ellington, Hartley, and Rhys. She will also be missed by her surviving siblings Kay Markowski, Rosanne (Benny) Hryciuk, Billy (Terri) Chilliak; and her sisters-in-law Elsie Chilliak and Vesper Chilliak.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband, Jack, and her siblings Mike, Peter, Johnny, and Mary.
Born on May 14, 1940, in Prudhomme, SK, Elizabeth was one of eight children of the late Dmytro & Anne Chilliak. She married her beloved Jack, and together they journeyed through life, family, and love. Elizabeth worked hard running clothing shops in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, and Fort McMurray, Alberta, while she also ran her household, no easy feat. Her strong work ethic, bold fashion sense, and smiling customer service paid off and she and Jack were able to retire in their 40s. That is when they moved to Kelowna, BC.
We will miss her constant smile, her sense of humour and her quick, comical one-liners.
We look forward to seeing her again in paradise.
Because Elizabeth always received amazing care at the Kelowna General Hospital, the family would like to thank the caring staff, and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH Foundation).
A Funeral Mass will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 19, 2025, at 10:30 AM (PDT), at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Rd, Kelowna, BC.

Noelle and family,
I am so grateful that you’ve shared your memories of your mom with us here. What a wonderful tribute to her memory. I’m wishing you so much strength. Much love to you all.

So very sorry for your family’s loss. I have very fond memories of the Wakaw store and the cabin at Wakaw lake. Auntie Liz was always smiling and in a great mood. Always gracious and helpful even when I needed a place to stay in Fort McMurray or visiting in Kelowna. Always fun and lots of laughter. Auntie Liz and mom would get the whole room laughing so much you have to leave the room to stop. What a wonderful lady. Thank you for the values and the memories. Rest in peace.
I was fortunate enough to know Liz past few years. She will be missed . Great lady.
Thinking of you all and remembering Auntie Liz. I have lots of good memories of your Mom and Dad in Wakaw.
Love Joan
Thinking of you all 💗 Big hugs!
