We Remember

WIEDEMAYER, David

December 23, 1959 — October 1, 2018

It is with tremendous sorrow and sadness that the family announces the passing of David Alexander Wiedemayer.  Dave passed on October 1, 2018 at the Kelowna General Hospital with his sisters Karen and Lynn and his daughter Ashley at his side. Dave had many illnesses, but it was lung cancer that won the last battle.  Dave rejoins his mother Lila and father Walter in the afterlife.  He is survived by his sisters Joan Hamel, Lynn Findlay and Karen Gyuricska, their husbands Paul, Cam and Shawn, his estranged wife Georgina Wiedemayer and his daughters Ashley Wiedemayer, Shannon Hennessey and Angela Hennessey. Dave is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, aunts and uncles.  Dave was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.  He was born in Kelowna and later relocated to Abbotsford, BC and then returned to Kelowna for his last years.  Dave never gave up his passion for fishing. Dave will be cremated, and his ashes returned to the earth in his favorite place – the wilderness. At Dave’s request we invite his friends and family to his service on Monday, October 15th, 2018 at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC.
