He had many careers amongst them are teaching, construction and real estate. Music was always part of his life and he sang in a variety of choirs and did solo work. In 1986, Larry and Helene lived in Brunei, Borneo which gave them the opportunity to travel extensively. They retired to Kelowna, BC in 1995, shared a home with daughter Lori King, her husband Ron and their daughters Nicole and Susan. They became active members of the Mennonite Church and travelled extensively to see family and friends. They were part of a condo community where Larry participated in the swimming exercise group, soaked in the hot tub, played crib, and met with their neighbours.
