Bonnie was more than a mentor and guide to me. She made me feel like family. I was honoured to teach some of her grandchildren alongside her daughter. She didn’t just give me my start in teaching, she gifted me a philosophy that I have held close for 25+ years of teaching. I can’t hear Charlotte Diamond, Raffi, or Michael Mitchell without thinking of her. She always said teaching wasn’t about the book knowledge, instead it was about having the right heart. I was so grateful that she saw that in me. She touched so many lives. The world is truly a less bright place without her in it. Please know how loved you are.
What you have created for these children goes beyond a school; it is a radiant world that enriches their souls. With profound respect, I honour you for bestowing upon them the blessing of growing in such peace.
Dear Bonnie,
There are no words that can truly express how grateful we are for everything you did for Faith.
Faith was blessed to have you as her teacher. When she came to your Montessori classroom, you saw beyond her learning disabilities and saw the beautiful, capable child she was. You took Faith under your wing, believed in her, encouraged her, and gave her the confidence to believe in herself. That year at Montessori was truly the best year of Faith’s life. You made her feel understood, accepted, and special. You went above and beyond for her in so many ways, even helping her with her vision and finding colour-coded glasses so she could see and learn more easily. Those acts of kindness meant more than you could ever know.
Today, Faith has graduated from high school and is becoming a teacher herself. We know that a part of her journey began with you. The patience, compassion, and belief you showed Faith helped shape the person she has become , Thank you, Bonnie, for taking Faith in, for believing in her, and for making such a lasting difference in her life. Your kindness will live on through Faith and through all the lives you touched.
You will be deeply missed, but you will never be forgotten. You will always have a special place in our hearts and in Faith’s heart.
With love and deepest gratitude,
Cenia and Faith
