We Remember
WILLIAMS, David James Aled
October 14, 1931 — July 16, 2024
David Williams passed away on July 16, 2024, in his 92nd year. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Orfila; and the proud and loving father of Shan Pearson (Paul) of Kelowna, BC, Spenser Williams (Susan Wharton) of Ottawa, ON, Cara Williams (Dave McEown) of Whistler, BC, and Nicole Foster (Brett) of Kelowna, BC; grandfather of David, Michael, Jordan, Blair, Ross, Rhys, and Alysia; and great-grandfather of Levi and Scott.
Born in England but a staunch Welshman, David was the youngest of four siblings (Gareth, Myfanwy, Llewellyn). He was sent to boarding school in Canada during WWII as a boy and later immigrated to BC with his family. As a young man, he worked at the Bank of Montreal and lived in several small towns in the province, including Powell River, where he met and married the love of his life, Orfi. The couple had four children, settled in West Vancouver and later retired to Kelowna.
David, who had a great sense of humour and loved to share stories of his youth, was known for his love of cribbage and solving the daily crossword puzzle. He will be remembered fondly by his many friends, family, nieces, and nephews.
In his final years, he was extremely grateful to his daughters, friends, and neighbours at Mission Park Place for their caring support which allowed him to remain in his home. His family extends their appreciation to his case-worker and home care team at Interior Health for their exceptional care.
