We Remember
WILLIAMS, Valerie
May 20, 1955 — November 26, 2021
Valerie Rose was born May 20, 1955, in Edmonton, AB, and she passed away, at her home, on November 26, 2021 in Kelowna, BC.
Valerie Rose Williams was a “dynamically beautiful force” to be reckoned with. Raised and educated in Edmonton, she excelled in school and worked in the Provincial Laboratory as well as in research at the University of Alberta. She moved to San Diego in 1985 where she received a degree in Speech Therapy, later followed by a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine. Val’s specialization in acupuncture therapy allowed her to not only heal physical pain, but also meet the emotional needs of her patients. She, with her husband, mother, and beautiful dog Kelly, moved to Kelowna in 2016, where they set up residency in preparation for retirement and the eventual addition of two more lovable dogs, Nikki and Sophie.
Val will be sorely missed and always cherished by her loving husband, Daniel; her devoted mother, Doreen Walters; brother, Dr. Randall Williams (Carol) of Edmonton; half-brother Kelvin (Sandee) & half-sister Shelley; numerous cousins; and treasured nieces Claire & Beth, nephew Rob, & their precious children. Valerie was predeceased by her never forgotten twin sister, Beverley Joan in 1958.
Courage, compassion, and tenacity were just a few of the incredible characteristics portrayed by Val. She is to be remembered for her commitment to loved ones, her love of nature, and the kindness that she shared so abundantly with the many lives she touched.
Val leaves this earth, grateful for all that she experienced and the never-ending lessons she learned along the way.
Heartfelt thanks and love go to her beloved soul sister Suzanne; dearest friends Rick and Su; her Gallagher’s circle who provided nurture and nourishment; the Kelowna Palliative Care Team and Dr. Julian Mackenzie-Feder, whose caring and loving spirit made “peace” possible.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Edmonton, Alberta at a future date.
