We Remember

WILLIAMSON, Marie “Doris” (née Knight)

August 7, 1930 – June 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Doris Williamson (née Knight), who was surrounded by family on Sunday, June 14, 2021, at the age of 90 years.

Doris was born in Irricana, Alberta – her mother delivered her by herself on the family farm.  She attended St. Mary’s Girls School in Calgary and was a proud graduate of the Holy Cross School of Nursing, Class of 1951.

Doris’ children, family and faith were most important to her.  She also loved to cook, garden and liked fun, and she enjoyed the casino.  Doris kept her house really nice and beautifully decorated.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Pamela Mulrooney (Calgary), Timothy Mulrooney (Calgary), Denise (Frank) Aiello (Kelowna); grandchildren Jennifer Mulrooney, Michael (Nancy) Gross, Nelson (Robin) Gross, Mason (Krisztina) Aiello, Jesse (Mike) Aiello; and great-grandchildren Julian Costa, Jadyn Aiello, Jason Aiello, Jack Gross and Lily Gross; her sisters-in-law Kay and Sylvia Knight; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Doris was predeceased by her son Robert; her daughter Patricia; her husband Guy Mulrooney (married 33 years); her husband Larry (married 18 years); her parents Robert and Anna Knight; her brothers James Robert, Lawrence, Peter, William, Raymond, and Donald; and sisters Beverly and Verna.

We would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff at the Hospice House in Kelowna for their care and kindness during Doris’ final journey to Heaven.

A Celebration of Doris’ Life will be held at a later date.
