Our sympathies to you May Newman re the passing of your long time friend – Hazel. At 97, she certainly achieved many things during her long life. I especially remember her contributions when we worked together on the Homeowners Committee in Sunrise Village. It was wonderful for the support she gave so willingly when you both were nearby residents in ” Sunrise “. I hope you are keeping well !
As a separate issue which you may not have heard about – Doreen suffered a stroke on May 23rd, 2013. and has been in KGH – Rehabilitation since then. She is making slow progress, and requires an
hydraulic lift in and out of bed there. The nursing staff there do a very good job, and the physio and occupational therapy sections are also doing a good job in slowly treating her disabled right side. As yet we do not have a time frame when she may move to the next stage. Meanwhile, I am making 2 trips each day to the Hospital, and the Dr. seems to feel promising about her progress – but just one day at a time !
