—
Went to be with her Lord on September 25, 2013 at the age of 88. Survived by her loving family, daughters: Sharlene (Calvin) Gray, Loreen (Warren) Slaght, son Doug (Joanne), eight grandchildren, sisters: Elaine (Henry) Dirksen, Doreen (Lavern) Traub, Joyce Wolfe and Marilyn (Hank) Willms.
She is sadly predeceased by her husband George in 2006 and by one brother John Wolfe. A special thank you to all the staff at the Village of Smith Creek for their love and care shown to our mom and us over the past 2 ½ years. There will be a graveside service at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00 am followed by a memorial service on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan, c/o #593 Spruceview Place South, Kelowna, BC V1V 1S8. Doug/Jo and family…Our condolences to you and yours for your loss of Mom…she was a bright spark, she loved the Lord and it shone through. I remember her at the hospital during nurse’s week giving the little Gideon bibles away…she was always smiling and had a hug ready.
She loved her family and she always had interest in our family to…and the fact that we shared a “Sharlene”. May the Lord give you strength during this time of loss knowing that you will one day be together!!! She will be remembered forever in your hearts…Hugs fron the OReilly’s….xooxox
I am sorry to hear about Auntie Leona’s passing. We will pray for the whole family in this time of grief. We also know we celebrate that Leona is now with God.
