We Remember
WOLF, Anton
September 30, 1930 — April 22, 2019
We are so very sad to announce the passing of Anton Wolf Sr on April 22, 2019 in his 89th year surrounded by loved ones.
Our Dad and Opa, also known as Tony, lived a full and fruitful life enriched by the enduring love of his dear wife and partner of more than 65 years Maria and his family.
Missing him deeply are Maria, his devoted children Tony (Peggy), Mary (Len), cherished grandchildren, Christey (Michael), Candice (JS), Alexandra (Gerald), Zoe, and his three great grandsons of whom he was so proud. Also missing Dad are his many friends and extended family near and far.
There was always room at Dad’s table for family and friends. His hospitality was legendary and he loved being with his people. Dad had a playful sense of humour and we fondly recall all the joy, jokes and laughter through the years. Dad talked about his deep faith with those closest to him. His kindness touched many over the years.
Dad took immense joy and pride in growing and sharing his tree fruits, vegetables and flowers over his many years as a hardworking, knowledgeable and talented orchardist and gardener. He loved nature in all of its pure glory. Dad cherished the beautiful Okanagan Valley and proudly contributed to the beauty and bounty of Kelowna, always supported by his beloved wife. He was fit and active up until his final weeks. He had a huge and loving heart and in the end, it was his kind heart that grew weary.
Many thanks to everyone involved in Dad’s care these last weeks. Please know that he appreciated each one of you.
If you knew our Dad and Opa and wish to honour his memory, please consider sharing some time, a meal or something from your life’s garden with someone who could use a hand up. This would make Dad happy.
Dad, Opa, we miss you, we love you and we’ll see you again on the other side. We’ll remember you in every apple blossom, bird song, sunrise, sunset and every moment in between. We are all so blessed to have been in your loving arms and heart.
We will gather to celebrate Dad’s life on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm at The Springfield Funeral Home.

So very heartbroken to hear of Tony’s passing. He was a true friend, thoughtful and kind. We will miss him terribly. Our love to all his family, whom he cherished and loved with all his heart.
Our hearts are heavy, and our thoughts are with Mary, and all the members of the Wolfe family. We were blessed to have known Tony for over 45 years, and were part of the many who always felt welcomed whenever we visited their home. We were made to feel like family, greeted with love and kindness even when we just dropped in, and we could not leave before we had something to drink and were fed. Even on my last bicycle ride past the farm, when I stopped in for a 10 minute “hello” I couldn’t leave without some boiled sausages thrust in the back pouch of my cycling jersey. Tony will continue to be forever in our hearts.
Dear Anton, Mary and Maria. I wanted to send my heartfelt condolences your way. I remember Tony more so as a child since our farm sided onto yours. A memory that really stands out to me is….. your mom and dad owned a tape player and every now and then my parents would receive a tape from Germany on which my grandparents/uncles/aunts would speak. Usually on a Sunday afternoon our family would come to your place where your dad would put us in a quiet room for privacy and we would listen to the tape. Then afterwards coffee and cake would always be included in the visit. Tony was a kind man, always a smile on his face. May God put his loving arms around you all and comfort you as you grieve.
We would like to send our condolences to Mary and the entire family at this difficult time and remember Tony our friend. Today we are thinking of what beautiful person Tony was, Such an incredibly kind and generous ma.n..We shall miss our phone calls and lovely conversations. We shall miss our visits at his beloved orchard and home.Tony was truly a wonderful man. His gift of friendship and kindness will never be forgotten. We will cherish our memories of Tony for he lived his life with incredible grace and honor and for that it was an honor and a privilege to have called him our friend. We shall always think of Tony when we eat and apple and we will smile and remember our friend Tony Wolfe.
My condolences to the family
I have very fond memories of Anton. I hitchhike to
Kelowna, from Montreal in 1979 and got my first job picking Apple’s at your family orchard . I remember how patient, Anton was in showing me the apple picking skills ; I had nexperience ! I was given a comfortable place to sleep in the garage ; that had been transformed in sleeping quarter I was often able to enjoys some home cooking that was brought to us .
40 years later ; I am still in Kelowna, married with children and also found the UNCONDITIONAL LOVE of our HEAVENLY PAPA ; which I am certain Anton is bathing in RIGHT NOW !!! We will ALL BE THERE (TOGETHER) ONE DAY !!
