We Remember
WRIGHT, Allan Lawrence
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
With deep sorrow we announce that on January 3rd, 2016 we lost Allan after his long and courageous struggle with depression. Born in Geraldton, Ontario on March 25, 1967, beloved son of Joan and David Wright of Woodstock, ON. He leaves behind his precious sons Max (9) and Luke (7) and their mother Edith Rozsa of Kelowna, along with Ingrid & Josef Rozsa of Vernon. Loving brothers Michael (Denise) of Mississauga, ON, and Charles ‘Chuck’ (Cindy) of Longlac, Ontario and beloved uncle to Brittney, Ryan, Jordana, Jade, Ava, Brenden and Karli. Al will be remembered fondly by his many aunts, uncles and friends East to West. He thrived in and loved the outdoors, sharing his passion for skiing and mountain biking with his sons and countless friends. In 1990, as a college graduate Allan ventured West, was taken by the beauty of the mountain culture and eventually was drawn to the beautiful Okanagan Valley where he made his home. While there he attained a Mechanical Engineering Diploma and had a successful career in design and manufacturing. There are no words to describe how saddened we are by your passing. Rest in peace Al, you will live on through our wonderful memories of you. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association or a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 14th at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Al was my first contact with Longlac and my introduction to Chuck and the rest of your wonderful family. I can now count some of Al’s childhood friends among my own.
I was very saddened to hear of Al’s death. We can’t understand the pain he suffered that made life unbearable.
My thoughts will be with you in these hard times. I hope you can see his smile on the face of his sons, feel his warmth when a ray of sunshine hits you, and hear his laughter in the wind.
I spent my college years with Al at Fanshawe. We shared a townhouse together with Chuck and another friend. Great memories thinking back to those days. We shared many laughs along with our neighbour friends. Sadly, he will be missed.
Thoughts and condolences to his sons and family. Peace be with you.
