We Remember
ZOOK, Jared Steven
May 10, 1989 — July 12, 2021
Jared went to be with the Lord unexpectedly at the age of 32 in Kelowna, BC.
Jared was born and raised in the Edmonton, AB area. He married Michelle (Cook) Zook in September 2017, and they moved to the Okanagan area in 2019 to continue his pursuit of a career in the crane industry.
Jared was a man with a big heart, and was known for being compassionate to others. He was always there for his friends and family. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and taking them on memorable adventures.
Jared was involved with volunteering with youth and as a sound technician, which allowed him to make a huge impact on the lives he touched through that work.
Jared is survived by his loving wife Michelle Zook; his parents Steven and Pamela Zook; his sister Tanya (Jamie) McKay; his nieces and nephews Tyson, Tegan, Jaden, Landen, Dawson, and Braelyn; and his many family and friends.
Jared was fun-loving, enthusiastic, and dependable. He had an incredible work ethic with an easy-going spirit.
Jared’s family would like to thank family, friends, church family, as well as the communities of Edmonton, and Kelowna for their generous outpouring of love and support.
His Celebration of life will be held on SATURDAY, AUGUST 28, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Gateway Family Church, 4310 Blackgold Drive Leduc, AB.

Such a beautiful tribute to a special young man. We know there aren’t words to describe your sorrow, but please take comfort in knowing how much Jared was loved for the impact he made on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Dearest Michelle, Steven, Pam and Tanya. So very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, son and brother. Sounded like he did the kingdom work and left a huge legacy on earth. He had impacted so many. Hang onto to those precious memories. May the Lord bless you and keep you and be gracious to you.May he turn His face and give you much peace, joy and love. He left one room and walked into another room(heaven). May His laughter be strength to your hurting heart❤️
Our deepest love and prayers are with you. When one of your students passes so suddenly and unexpectedly it reaches into all the memories you shared with them. Jared was an amazing young man, always caring, humble, obedient and full of joy and humor. On the mission field he carried the Spirit of God in a powerful way, ready and willing to serve at a moments notice. As you walk through this time of grief, know that nothing will be wasted from this season but that God will continue to use your lives, the lives of the Zook family, in a powerful way. As Paul stated in 2 Corinthians 1:4 …with the comfort you are receiving so you will comfort others. Jared would want it no other way! Until we see him again, Love and Blessings.
There will never be the words that can truly describe losing a family member in this life…the bittersweet mingling of reliving happy memories and processing your sorrow and grief, all while your friends and family rally around you. I hope the Zook family knows how much they are loved and supported during these times and that we’re all standing with you in celebrating the life of Jared in all its fullness and love and fun and passion. Sending your family condolences and big hugs as you celebrate Jared and lay him to rest. <3
