“What I’ve loved about Springfield is their sensitivity to each situation and individual involved.”
“They said, you know, nothing is out of bounds. Whatever you want for the memorial, just tell us and we’ll work with it.”
“The thing that I loved is as well is that, like, during the service…one of the things that we didn’t…half of the family wanted an open casket, half of the family wanted a closed casket. So David – of course – came up with a brilliant idea. He opened up a room to us so that daddy could, there could be a receiving room for daddy, so the people that did want to see him in an open casket situation could see him. And those that still felt a little bit funny about it, they didn’t have to. They could go straight through and then the closed casket was presented.”
“We live in a time of speed and fastness. And, you know, sometimes service is sometimes maybe not what it was, say 15-20 years ago. So I was truly surprised at how genuinely kind everybody was. And I needed a little kindness at that time.”
“Until you’ve been through it, you don’t understand the trauma, the stress, the emotions. And when you can have someone take over for you, be calm, it’s such a relief. And that’s what I’ve told all my friends, my family – they saw it when they were here.”
