This is our Family Room.
This room serves a multiple of purposes. It’s location – immediately adjacent to the foyer – allows families to get away if it becomes a little bit too much with the visiting prior to the service. We want to give them a quiet place where they can meet with their family prior to the service, to collect their thoughts before the beginning.
We find some families, when they’ve had their loved one present at the service – the casket may be open for viewing – we’ve set this room up in such a way that their friends, if they would like to come in and say goodbye, they can come here to visit, allowing those who maybe did not feel comfortable with that to immediately go to the Chapel to have a seat. This way, all of your guests who are coming are going to feel that they’ve also been looked after.
If people would like to have family time prior to, we can actually set up an evening before the service for just your family and maybe some close friends to have your time to complete your relationship with your loved one and have your own personal private time to say goodbye – prior to the busyness of service the next day.
Some people would actually like to use this room as one of our service options. It’s a much more intimate spot for a group of 30 or under. When you are going to have a small funeral, this room feels a little bit more like you are almost at home.
