We Remember
MEAKIN, Lucielle
February 27, 1934 — November 19, 2024
Lucille Meakin (née Douville) was born in Pontiex, Saskatchewan. They were a large family of ten. She had many stories of her siblings to share. Her Parents were Ovide and Juliette Douville.
Lucille loved to bake, crochet and knit. She travelled to and lived in many places. Lucille eventually settled in West Kelowna with her husband Stuart Meakin, with whom she spent 30 wonderful years. Lucille loved to have company and fill your belly with Homemade treats and fabulous dinners. She was a strong, intelligent woman and devoted to those she loved.
Lucille moved to Williams Lake to be closer to her family this last year. She passed in peace on November 19, 2024.
Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart, and her third son, Dwayne.
Lucille is survived by her sons Robert, Bryan, and Daryl; grandchildren, Bradley, Cody, Rodney, Jeremy, and Ashlyn; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Autumn, Paisley, Alaina, Wyatt, Elise, Lyra, and Niles.
In the scripture (Revelation 21:4) God will wipe every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.
Rest easy, sweet Mother,

I am Lucille’s niece, Shirley. I lived with her, John and the boys for a summer or two. I loved her a great deal and felt like her daughter. We were lucky to have seen each other while I lived in San Diego, and she and Stu travelled within Arizona..
Lu made it to Ontario to see me in Niagara+On-The-Lake as well. Each visit was so special. I did get to speak to her on the phone about a month ago, and realized she was weak and probably in pain. It’s hard to believe she is not here anymore but I’m happy that she is with those she loves. We will see each other again Lu.
Love you.
