We Remember

OGILVIE, Ann

It is with great sadness and profound love that we announce the passing of Astrid Ann Ogilvie, who left us peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 88.

Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, David Drummond Ogilvie—a love that remained constant and enduring throughout her life.

Ann leaves behind a wealth of love, including her four children, David Beairsto, Doug (Karen) Beairsto, Ed (Sylvia) Beairsto, and Darlene Beairsto; her cherished fur baby, Pablo; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; her brother Elmer (Anita) Kabush; and niece Janice Rosen.

She now joins those who passed before her, including her loving husband, David, and parents Karl Gunder and Agda, her siblings and in-laws, Dennis, Fred, Sverre, Jimmy, Bob, Georgie, Doris, Irene, and Jean.

Ann was warm, strong, and deeply kind, someone whose heart seemed to have no limits. She had a gentle way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and cared for. Known for her love of animals, her wonderful sense of humour, and her natural ability to bring people together, Ann carried a light that touched everyone around her. Her stories, laughter, and quiet strength will be remembered always.

Born in Vancouver, BC, Ann grew up proudly as a “fisherman’s daughter,” a part of her identity she carried with pride throughout her life. In her younger years, she found joy in spending time with family and friends, her morning coffee, and the outdoors. Her love of camping at Woods Lake led her and the family to the Okanagan in the early 1990s, a place that held special meaning.

In her later years, Ann found peace in the quiet moments, spending time with her soulmate, whom she missed dearly after his passing, and remaining inseparable from her son David and her beloved fur baby Pablo, finding comfort in their love. Whether enjoying old movies or spoiling Pablo with far too many treats, these simple joys meant everything to her.

Above all else, Ann treasured her loved ones, and her family was the centre of her world. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and countless cherished memories. Ann will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her spirit, kindness, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A private family gathering will be held in her honour, where stories of her beautiful life will be shared and celebrated.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ann’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
