We Remember
SIPOS, Norbert Samuel “Norbie”
July 3, 1996 — July 27, 2024
On July 27, 2024, in the Kelowna General Hospital, Norbert Samuel Sipos, known as Norbie, went to be with the Lord at the age of 28. Norbie was born on July 3, 1996, in Kelowna, BC. He is survived by his parents Frank & Eva; brother & sister-in-law, Jonathan & Taylor; and his baby niece Rose. He was predeceased by his grandparents Mary & Frank, and his grandmother Juliana.
Norbie’s days were filled with music from morning to night. He had a special love for worship and southern gospel tunes. His favourite pastimes included watching Blues Clues, going for walks, and being surrounded by people. Norbie was incredibly social and thrived in the company of others. Living in a care home, Norbie loved everyone there, and they loved him back. His affectionate nature and demand for love brought joy to many. Without speaking a word, Norbie taught valuable lessons about love, patience, kindness, and happiness to everyone around him, especially his parents. Norbie’s life was a beautiful example of how much can be communicated without words, touching countless hearts along the way.
Norbie’s family is ever so grateful for the love and care Norbie received at the Bethesda care home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Home at Bethesda Christian Association.

My deepest condolences to the family of our beloved Norbi. We all loved him and cherished the time that we had with him while at Kelowna Christian School. May he be at peace with the Lord while in Heaven, joyfully worshiping and singing praises. We will never forget his unrelenting joy.
I have fond memories of sweet Norbie from my time teaching at KCS. He was always cheerful and happy to be around others. Prayers for you all as you grieve the loss of someone so loved. May the knowledge of Norbie celebrating in his new home bring much comfort.
Dear Frank, Eva and Jonathan
I am so very sorry to hear of Norbi’s passing!
I will never forget my time spent with him!
Thinking of you all
Love
Debra
I am so very sad to hear that Norbi has passed away.
I have been thinking about all the time I spent with him as his aide and providing respite care for him.
I am thinking of you all at this hard time.
Debra MacKenzie
Norbi will be missed at Bethesda. It was a blessing to know him and work with him. We will miss his echos and clapping, his smiles and so much more.
Norbi will be very missed. He was such a sweet young man. My prayers are with family and loved ones during this tough time. Debra.
I was so saddened to hear the news about Norby, he was such a special soul he always brightened my every time I was able to work with him at Bethesda. I know that he was so loved there and he too loved being there I know he is leaving a whole in the day to day life but not in their lives because he touched everyone that he meet. With a great big HI.
Norby is missed at Bethesda. He had very individual relationships with staff members so everyone misses him uniquely. I will never forget him.
What a life well lived. I knew Norbie first from school and then from Bethesda, and this young man always showed Jesus’s light. His smile and excitement while worshiping at church, swaying to the music will be remembered. It is always so hard to lose a loved one but my prayer is the family will know they did right by him in all his struggles and knowing he had a full and beautiful life. Hang on to the memories.
Kindly, Lisa Peters
Dear Frank, Eva, Jonathan and Taylor,,
I was so surprised when I read that Norby has gone on to be with the Lord. What good memories of him we all had at KCS! And what a wonderful time he is sure to be having now, free from earthly limitations, in the presence of the Lord. (A special hello to Jonathan from Mrs. O.!) May the peace of God keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Dear Frank and Eva and family, my deepest condolences on Norbi’s passing. Norbi brought so much joy and love into this world. It is truly a loss, but thank God for His promises that your family will see him again in the life to come. I am reminded of this quote: Life is eternal and Love is immortal, and death is only an horizon, and an horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.*
Eva, Frank, Jon, Taylor and Rose
In each memory and smile that Norbi brings to your hearts and souls. Love lives in forever, stays with you, his memories and love will always be in your heart and will help heal and move forward with the joy that he brought into your life.
Karin and Keith.
Dear Eva, Frank and family. Cameron and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Norbie was such a lovely young man. Please know that our hearts aches for you and your family during this unimaginable time of grief. No parent should have to endure this kind of pain. While we cannot understand the depths of your sorrow, we hope you’ll accept our care, support and sincere condolences. Norbie will remain forever in our hearts.
